Married Madlibs

One of my coworkers has this romantic thing going on.  Well, not a romantic thing as in an affair--she's quite happily married to a very nerdy man whom she loves.  We are sort of kindred spirits in that sense.  She is also a teacher, adding a mutual love of witticisms to our common bond.  Similarly geeky compatriots in marriedom coupled with a great love for all things academic?  You would call us twins, separated at birth.

Except for the age difference.  And her inclination to all things romantic.  I, being prone to sanity, abhor all things with even a smattering of red hearts and gushy female "aww"s.  She, on the other hand, gushes over such things.

In fact, she is always there to celebrate married firsts with me.  Without fail, she is always prepared with a "Happy First Married _________!"

"Happy First Married Vacation!"
"Happy First Married Work Banquet!"
"Happy First Married Halloween!"
"Happy First Married Snow Day!"

Okay, even I can admit that's normal and a sentiment to be appreciated.  But eventually she gets to the  "Happy First Married Natural Disaster!"s and "Happy First Married Part-time Work!".

Yesterday was our "Happy First Married Goat Project"!  (I should probably clarify that there is a back story about starting a project at our workplace involving goats, inspired by some local goat heroes.  She's not that crazy.  Just a little.)

I can't wait to see what other Married Firsts there are out there for us.  Today, for instance, she wished me a "Happy First Married Weekend Before Thanksgiving!"

See?  There is always something to look forward to.
