Conversations in Parenthood

Just some funny moments from the last few weeks.  Most of which, I realize, revolve around whether or not the Otter is going to sleep or not.  Ah, parenthood.

Me: "Time to give the baby her Xanax."
Man: "You mean Zantac?"
Me: "Isn't that what I said?"
Man: "No... baby needs Zantac.  Mommy might need Xanax though.."

~~~
[As we're climbing into bed.]
"The sleep vampire is awake."
"Of course she is... Maybe if we ignore her, she'll fall asleep."
"Ha."
~~~

Me: why is our baby breathing so quickly?
Man: I don't know, but she sounds like a flock of geese.
[a few minutes later, her breathing has slowed as she falls asleep]
Man: The geese have flown south for the winter..

~~~
Man: Otter, you scratched your face again.  You look like Scarface this time.  Good thing you have the healing powers of Wolverine.
~~~

Me: Is she awake?
Man: I don't know.
Me: Well, you can see her, right?  Are her eyes open?
Man: Maybe.  She has slit-y eyes right now.
Me: Hmm.
Man: But they're getting slit-ier.
Me: Oh.  I guess that's a good sign.

~~~
Man: Wait.  What is that?
Me: A Wubbanub?
Man: A what?
Me: A Wubbanub.  It's a pacifier with a stuffed animal attached.
Man: So...your baby is sucking face with it's stuffed animal?  That's a bit weird.
Me: Really?
[One google image search later...]
Me: Huh.  I guess that is pretty much what's going on.  Weird.
