Sorry for the prolonged absence. I know many of you have cried buckets of tears without my gloriously entertaining post. Buckets.
Actually, bring those tear-buckets over to my place. My floor needs a good washing. Again.
The reason for the near two week disappearance act has been the great move to the New Place. I haven't yet figured out what to call it, but New Place is about to lose out to The Apartment of Many Wall Colors. Or perhaps simply: Fall Pantone. Don't get me wrong, I love most of the fiercely colored walls--it was, in fact, part of what I fell in love with here at 50th & Baltimore. There's just this burnt orange wall that strikes me as a bit much.
Never fear, it is now partially muted by two bookshelves.
I'd post a picture, but you can't actually see much of the wall due to sundry items, including the growing collection of empty boxes and the mattress I have been sleeping on whilst the original Mama O'Neil has been visiting.
In fact, my apartment currently resembles the game Rush Hour. Shift certain boxes and furniture one direction and you can access the kitchen. Shift them back to access the computer and sewing table. Shift once more to escape in case of fire.
I have been saving pictures and stories to update you on the hijinks performed by myself, the Man and my mom. Until then, many thanks to the minions who helped me move on such a hot day and dragged my immense collection of stuff halfway across town in their cars. I think I owe you all another beer and more dumplings.
Oh, and here is a picture of Man's idea of a doorstop:

does that cup actually work...?
ReplyDeleteyes it does! I was somewhat amazed, too, at the staying power of a ceramic mug.
Deletemust keep that in mind when i move. haha.
