The problem with unpacking is that with it, the wedding stuff unpacked itself, too. So for the month leading up to the wedding, our table was no longer covered with homeless dishes and half empty boxes, but with snippets of paper, netting and vases.
After cooking a meal a few weeks before the wedding, Man glanced at the table with dismay. A desperate glance around the room revealed an alternative choice. A triplet of small, empty storage bins.
It has been a week since the wedding. Sadly our table still retains a mound-shape, as it is covered with presents, left over wedding decorations and mail.
We still eat on the floor some nights. But more and more, we push the left over crafts and papers into a steeper pile on the table so that we can have one corner to ourselves.
The pile will last a while longer as we are just now returning from a weekend in Vermont for our mini-moon. Monday morning, however, will bring some changes with it.
