Today is Talk Like a Pirate Day. However, I hate to disappoint you all but my Pirate typewriter is in the shop. Yea, I know, I didn't think through that one well at all. It's almost as bad as the time I took Wilbur to the mechanic the day before I was supposed to leave for a road trip. Except that one of these is something I actually did . The other is a complete fabrication.
I'll let you have the fun of trying to decide which is which.
So we are finally back from (Oo)LaLaLand and back to our regularly scheduled programming. Which, for us, means writing Thank You Cards. I had this grandiose dream of having all the thank you cards in the faithful hands of the Post Office before stepping foot on foreign soil.
Yea. As most of you reading this will know, that didn't happen.
I know, I know. I technically have a year's grace period. But that seems excessive unless you're Kate Middleton and, I would assume, have thousands of gifts to reply to and numerous other important royal tasks (such as dressing sharply) to attend to. But if you're a duchess of such high importance, one would think that you have people who would write these sorts of things for you anyway.
So I'm doing away with this obsolete notion of a one year grace period and I am determined to finish these things long before Thanksgiving. The irony of being thankful for being done with Thank Yous sounds more delicious than turkey.
