Let's Make a Deal

One of my most beloved friends and I brag about the deals we get on everything.  Even presents for each other.  Well, it's probably more accurate to say we brag about our frugal successes especially on presents for each other.  What better gift than the time and energy it takes to get the actual gift at a stellar price?

This is perhaps one of the bonds between myself and the Old Man as well.  He, too, has a great fondness for getting a good deal.  He is probably far better at haggling than I am, but I am a queen of making coupons work magic.

So when I managed to buy pillows at Macy's for our guest room, and did so at an amazing price, I couldn't resist asking Man, in my best impersonation of his father, "How much you think?"

Man's guess wasn't too far off, but he was still rather impressed when I corrected his guess with an accented "Thirty."

Man: What? For four?

Me: Well... It was actually thirty-three, but, try as I may, I couldn't recall how your dad says three.
