Are you going to take his name?
I had just assumed so, but I hadn't really thought about it. I didn't even realize how many options there were.. Do I keep my last name as my middle name? Do I need to keep my last name? Does he want me to take his name? (Though, knowing him, it's likely that he doesn't care one way or another.) Do I hyphenate?
Do you want people calling you Mrs. Lui?
I don't think I care. Luckily for me, my future mother-in-law is pretty cool and I don't mind sharing a name with her. (I say this as if I've ever heard anyone call her Mrs. Lui.) At least I know that I don't want to hyphenate. So the only question remains: Do I keep my last name and tuck it into 'middle name' status or do I leave that sucker at the aisle as I walk away Mrs. Hon Lui?
I guess I have a few months to decided, huh? Until then, here's a funny thought:
"I'd rather people all me Mrs T. I'm not Mrs. Taveras... that's Alvin's mom!"
Anyone else picture a small Chinese woman with a wife beater, faux-hawk and huge gold chains?? :)
Lmbo!!! I made the blog- makes me cheese ;) Call me Mrs. T, to the soon to be Mrs. Megan Lui or MOL... Lol
ReplyDeleteI approve of MOL. But then you'd have to teach chemistry. And your name would be weird to hyphen because it already looks like a compound.
ReplyDeleteI think when my day comes, I've decided to hyphen, my name first, mostly because I really like my last name and Kathryn Nguyen gets all swallowed up. And if I ever become a professor, people can call me Dr. Lu-Nu for short. :)
