Before I ever dated Hon, there was only one thing I really wanted at my wedding: Crayons.
My dream was to have white butcher paper on all the tables and a 128 count Crayola crayon box (with sharpener) on each. This would become the take home present for one lucky guest. They would get to draw, color or write all over the table. The goal would be to cut out what they doodle or write then cut it out and paste it into our guestbook.
However, with the way the wedding is set up, this has become practically undoable. There will be two receptions, but one will be a cocktail hour, which means no tables. The second is a Chinese banquet which has multiple problems. First, the people who don't know me will probably think I'm crazy (whereas those of you who do know me already know I'm crazy but embrace it all the same). Moreover, there will be no room on the table once the food gets started.
Basically it all boils down to this conundrum: How to encorporate crayons--or something crayonesque--into the guestbook. I have gathered a few ideas from my go-to wedding websites (RealSimple, MarthaStewart and Etsy) and have found some suitable replacements but I haven't come to a decision yet.
I think it's time for a little audience participation. Ready?
