Yesterday, I woke up early, took pictures of outfits in the mirror like the high school girl I never was. I emailed them to my Ultimate Fashion Adviser. Ultimate Fashion Adviser picked the purple sweater with a scarf. I hemmed and hawed--I am, after all, bound and determined to wear my purple peacoat in any outdoor shots.
Coworker also picked purple sweater. I continued to balk at the idea of being purple in all pictures. Seriously.
So I went to the mall with Fiancé for the last two hours of the day. Tried on numerous colorful sweaters--apparently gray is not very in this season. Two were almosts last night. But only because I was desperate to not wear purple twice. Looking back, I have to acknowledge that I looked like a leprechaun in one and Veruca Salt in the other.
This morning I had ring scare #2. Took the ring off because I was freaking out that it would fall down the drain (that has a cover on it) only to drop it in my laundry bag and have to take everything out piece by piece until I could find it. I then trundled over to my old apartment armed with two bags, 5 outfits and my makeup. The roommate who abandoned me for a husband also chose the purple sweater.
I gave up. I'll wear purple in all my photos. Decision made.
Time to go through the checklist:
- Running late? Check.
- Stomach in knots? Check plus.
- Almost forget the buttons and the tickets? Yup. Early enough to run home and get them.
- Ding at least two freshly painted nails? Yes. Three, in fact. And almost a fourth as I smoothed the divots out with a fresh coat.
Ok, maybe getting to play at the aquarium while two lens followed us around helped a lot. As my photographer put it: #HipposHereWeCome
